How to repair missing NTLDR on Windows XP

what is NTLDR?

NTLDR = New Technology Loader

When you start the computer, the BIOS attempts to find the primary hard drive's active partition to read the first sector for the MBR (Master Boot Record), it uses that info to load the rest of the OS. For Windows NT4/2k/XP the MBR is pointed to the NTLDR and it takes it from there.

Missing ntldr caused by corrupted hard disk drive or severely corrupted Windows, corrupted hard disk drive may be cause shutdown not properly, lost power electricity.

How to fix it?!

Try to check the hard disk drive for any erors by running the chkdsk error.
To do this follow this steps:
Insert the Microsoft Windows XP instalation CD. Reboot the computer, you should see a message to press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key. In the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu press the R key to enter the recovery console. Select the operating system you wish to fix, and then enter the administrator password. Once at the recovery console type chkdsk /r Once completed type exit and see if issue is resolved.

Using 3rd party tools
If check disk does't work, you can download little tools, you can get it in http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm
follow the instructions that supplyed.

thanks
